"I am honored by the DMAA’s invitation to join its efforts. I look forward to supporting the DMAA’s mission to promote disease management, and to educate the healthcare industry and the public about the improved care outcomes and financial benefits brought about by effective, high quality disease management programs," said Selecky.
Wesley E. Harrington, executive director of the DMAA, said "LifeMasters is leading the charge in disease management with innovative solutions and a record of successful outcomes for its customers. As the chief executive of LifeMasters, Chris Selecky brings tremendous experience and expertise to our board. We look forward to the important contributions she will make."
Selecky will lend a keen understanding of legislative issues and her knowledge of the healthcare industry to her post as chair of the DMAA’s Governmental Affairs Committee. As head of the organization’s legislative efforts, Selecky will monitor and report on regulatory activities with the potential to impact disease management and the DMAA’s membership.
Selecky came to LifeMasters in 1996 from a 16-year background in managed healthcare. As CEO, she has positioned LifeMasters as a full-service resource, offering effective and flexible disease management programs, recognized by patients, payors and providers for improving care and lowering cost.
In other news announced this week, results of the 2000 Health Employer Data Information Set (HEDIS) measurements for Massachusetts-based Fallon Community Health Plan’s nearly 7,000 diabetes patients enrolled in the LifeMasters program shows significant improvement of clinical outcomes versus 1999 pre-intervention figures.
