Christobel Selecky Appointed DMAA President-Elect
CEO of LifeMasters to Help Guide Disease Management Association of America in Mission to Expand Markets, Promote Establishment of Quality Standards, and Spearhead Education
Irvine, Calif. (October 21, 2003) - LifeMasters® Supported SelfCareSM, Inc. CEO Christobel Selecky was named president-elect of the Disease Management Association of America (DMAA) during the Fifth Annual Disease Management Leadership Forum held October 12-15 in Chicago.As president-elect, Ms. Selecky will work closely with newly elected president Samuel Nussbaum, M.D., Executive Director Warren Todd and the rest of the association's executive committee to set the strategic course for the coming year.

"Building on the work of past officers, I look forward to helping to expand the market for disease management, promote the establishment of quality standards, and educate our various stakeholders about the benefits of disease management at every opportunity."
A member of the DMAA since 1999, Ms. Selecky has served on the organization's Board of Directors and in a variety of roles including Secretary (2002) and as Chairman of the Association's Government Affairs Committee for the past three years. Highlights of Ms. Selecky's tenure in that role include her recent testimony before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce's sub-committee regarding the success of disease management among Medicaid recipients. Based on her success as Government Affairs Chair, Ms. Selecky has been asked to continue in that capacity.
In addition to her current duties on the executive committee and as Chair of the Government Affairs Committee, Ms. Selecky will also become Chair of the Program Committee, which oversees the annual Disease Management Leadership Forum.
For more than twenty years, Ms. Selecky has held leadership positions in the health care industry, directing one of California's largest Health Maintenance Organizations and, since 1996, co-founding and leading LifeMasters, one the largest disease management companies in the nation. With a mix of experience, passion, and persistence, Ms. Selecky has helped shape the disease management industry, guided by her belief that disease management fulfills the original promise of managed care.
