LIFEMASTERS RECEIVES FULL URAC DISEASE MANAGEMENT ACCREDITATION

Irvine, Calif., January 10, 2008 – LifeMasters Supported SelfCare, Inc., a national provider of disease management services, announced today that it has been awarded Full Disease Management Accreditation from URAC, a Washington, DC-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the healthcare industry.

“At LifeMasters, we take quality and measurement very seriously. This national accreditation validates LifeMasters’ clinical depth, proven outcomes and passion to deliver high-quality disease management and health improvement programs to our clients and participants,” said Christobel Selecky, CEO of LifeMasters. “I am very proud of the high marks we received from URAC and we are honored to receive this three-year re-accreditation.”

LifeMasters health improvement programs improve quality of life for people with risk factors and chronic conditions, reduce healthcare cost trends for payors, and provide decision-support tools and information for physicians.

“By applying for and receiving Disease Management accreditation, LifeMasters has demonstrated a commitment to quality health care,” said Alan P. Spielman, URAC president and CEO. “Quality health care is crucial to our nation’s welfare and it is important to have organizations that are willing to measure themselves against national standards.”

URAC’s Disease Management Accreditation standards promote evidence-based practice, collaborative relationships with providers, consumer education and shared-decision making with consumers. These standards apply to all types of organizations providing services for individuals with chronic illnesses, including health plans, stand-alone disease management organizations and medical management organizations.
