LIFEMASTERS CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN EXECUTIVE TEAM IRVINE, Calif., January 24, 2008 – LifeMasters Supported SelfCare, Inc., a national provider of health improvement and disease management services, announced today that it has promoted Charles A. Peck, MD, FACP to the position of Chief Medical Officer and Steven S. Eisenberg, MD, FAAFP to the position of Chief Science Officer. In his role as Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Peck, who joined LifeMasters in September 2007, will be responsible for all clinical programs and activities, including clinical quality, provider relations, and product design. He will focus on ensuring that program offerings are evidence-based and that they result in better health outcomes and meet the needs of program participants and their physicians. He will also continue to provide the primary clinical interface between LifeMasters and its current and prospective clients and partners. Dr. Peck is an internist and rheumatologist and brings to LifeMasters more than 28 years of healthcare experience. Prior to joining LifeMasters, Dr. Peck was chief medical officer of a convenient care clinic operator. He has also held senior leadership positions at Aetna; was a partner with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting Practice; and associate clinical professor of medicine, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. In his new role as Chief Science Officer, Dr. Eisenberg, who joined LifeMasters in August 2007, will play a leadership role in analyzing and providing the information necessary to demonstrate the value of LifeMasters’ health improvement programs and to continually improve their effectiveness and efficiency based on a deeper understanding of critical success factors. He will continue to enhance and lead the informatics and analytic functions for LifeMasters and will have accountability for outcomes reporting. He and Dr. Peck will work closely together to evaluate and enhance the LifeMasters clinical program and ensure that current and prospective clients have the information they need to better understand and address their own unique challenges in helping their constituents improve their health. Dr. Eisenberg is a family physician who brings to LifeMasters more than 28 years of experience. Most recently, he served as chief science officer at UnitedHealthcare, where he oversaw all clinical data, clinical information systems, and transparency programs. He also held senior leadership positions at Phoenix Healthcare Intelligence, LLC; Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota; Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota; and Rapid City Community Health Center, which he helped establish. Dr. Eisenberg also has an academic background and was an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Residency Program Director and Assistant Dean at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. Dr. William C. Popik, who came out of retirement to serve as LifeMasters’ interim Chief Medical Officer and recruited Drs. Taylor most recently held senior marketing and business development positions with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and with Lumenos, Inc., a consumer-driven healthcare innovator. Maran formerly held positions with Take Care Health Systems, CIGNA and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, and Courville recently held technology leadership positions with Perot Systems, Pfizer, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
