LIFEMASTERS WINS NATIONAL AWARD FOR LIVING WELL MAGAZINE Health Improvement Magazine Recognized for Communication Excellence IRVINE, Calif., May 9, 2009 - Honored for marketing excellence in the 2009 Aster Awards, LifeMasters Supported SelfCare, Inc. received national recognition in this year's contest for its Living Well magazine. The Aster Awards, one of the largest competitions of its kind, is hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today and Creative Images, Inc. This elite national program recognizes outstanding healthcare professionals for excellence in their advertising and marketing efforts. The 2009 Aster Awards consisted of approximately 3,000 entries from across America. Participants' entries competed against similar-sized organizations in their category. Entries must score at least in the top 85% to be recognized. Judging criteria includes creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal. Living Well is a quarterly magazine for LifeMasters participants, which includes stories on how to manage chronic conditions, the latest news, healthy living tips and recipes. It includes clinical messaging consistent with national guidelines and targets participants' activation levels and behavioral readiness to change. The magazine, which is written at appropriate reading levels and incorporates imagery appropriate for each population, is also available in Spanish. "LifeMasters is among the top in the nation for healthcare advertising expertise … specifically scoring in the top sixteen percent. It was an honor to have LifeMasters participate in the 2009 Aster Awards," said Melinda R. Lucas, Aster Awards Program Coordinator. "They exceeded the judges' expectations." Entries in the Aster Awards were judged by a diverse panel of healthcare marketing experts.
