Clinical Nurse Consultant
LifeMasters is what every other job prepared me for. I love teaching and helping people to get better. We help educate our participants on what their condition means, how it came about, how to prevent it from getting worse, how to eat, exercise, what their lab results mean, and how to improve them. We hear things like, "you have changed my life. You have put me back on the right track. I look forward to your calls. I love what you’re teaching me." There’s so much positive feedback.
My participants make me know that it is all worthwhile. With any kind of nursing you always say if you could change one person’s life -- you hope that you will make a difference and somebody will know that you’ve touched them. My participants make feel like I’m needed and wanted. I have told many people that this is the first job I have ever had that I look forward to every single day. It’s different than any other nursing job I’ve ever had.

I feel like I make a real difference. You develop a real relationship with your participants, which is nice. If they want to please you, they’ll make a change.
I'm proud to be part of LifeMasters because of the people I work with and because I believe we are fulfilling a task that's very important for people. We're there to provide them with information or the coaching to take the steps they need to take ownership of their healthcare. |

I really enjoy LifeMasters because I like the opportunity to make an impact on people's lives. I enjoy the ongoing follow-up that I have with my participants and the fact that I get to see the differences occurring in their everyday life. The most interesting part of my job is the relationship that I develop with my participants over time. It's very rewarding, and I also find the process of behavior change in my participants to be very interesting.
It's really fun to hear a light bulb go on when you're talking to somebody on the phone. And then you see that in their health the next time you call them. You know that they got the concept that they didn't understand before about their disease. It's very rewarding.
I have told a lot of my friends who are nurses that the stress level in some nursing jobs is sometimes more than people want to live with. The impact that we make here is greater than what you can do in the hospital. I find it a much more rewarding way to impact people's lives. |

Personally, this is the best job I've ever had. One of the main reasons I applied for this position five years ago is because I get to use my degree and my training. Health education is a new and upcoming field. I get to use it on a daily basis and share my knowledge and teach, which is what I’m good at.
I’m going to tell you to consider working for LifeMasters for two reasons: You'll be working in a field that’s up-and-coming, and you'll be working for a wonderful, positive company that listens to what you have to say and lets you give suggestions. It’s a very rewarding place to work, and you get to use your training on a day-to-day basis.

I wanted to come here for what I'm doing now: providing participants information and making a difference in their lives. I've had participants who have made some big changes. Even their doctors are amazed because they're sticking to a diet a little bit more or becoming a little more regimented. My participants thank me for being there to answer their questions and motivating them to make a change. They say, "I'll be getting a call in a couple of weeks from Davy, and he's going to ask me about it."
I've been here a long time. The best part of working here throughout the years has been actually making a difference in the lives ofour participants, and seeing their changes. You see the improvement in their lab reports and values, and you can hear it when they're telling you about how much weight they'’ve lost or any other kind of positive change they've made. Just being there with them and speaking with them on a regular basis is a real motivating factor to come to work.
