LifeMasters Named One of Orange County's Fastest Growing Technology Companies in Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Program

Attributes Unique Focus on Delivering Exceptional Disease Management Solutions to its Ninth Place Ranking

Irvine, Calif. (October 5, 2004) - LifeMasters Supported SelfCare, Inc. a leading disease management company, has been named to Deloitte's prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for Orange County, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the area by Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the nation's leading professional services firms. Rankings are based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues over five years, from 1999-2003.

LifeMasters Chairman and CEO Christobel E. Selecky credits the company's consistent focus on delivering leading edge disease management solutions to its customers as a key factor for the company's dramatic growth over the past five years. LifeMasters was founded in 1994 with the vision of creating a coordinated approach to preventive care for individuals with chronic illness rather than simply managing their disease. Today, the company provides comprehensive disease management services to more than 350,000 program participants nationwide through its contracts with health plans, employers, and government entities. LifeMasters' disease management program participants develop one-on-one relationships with specially trained nurses and other healthcare professionals who provide support, information, and personalized coaching designed to educate participants and provide them with the tools to help achieve optimal health. In addition, LifeMasters' proprietary clinical intelligence information technology system uses a variety of predictive modeling methodologies to identify individuals who would benefit from the service and regularly monitors participants and gaps in their recommended care and notifies a participant's personal physician if a clinically-validated change occurs. "We are honored to accept the award from Deloitte as one of the fastest growing technology-based companies in Orange County," said Selecky." This achievement will be shared by all of our employees as a testament to their dedication over the company's ten-year history in building LifeMasters into one of the largest and most widely recognized disease management companies in the United States."

LifeMasters increase in revenues of nine hundred percent from 1999 to 2003 resulted in a ninth place ranking in the Fast 50 for Orange County. To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1999 and $1,000,000 in 2003, must be public or private companies headquartered in North America, and be a "technology company" defined as owning proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues (using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify); and/or devoting a significant proportion of revenues to research and development of technology.

"The Deloitte Orange County Technology Fast 50 companies have shown the strength, vision and temerity to succeed despite a very challenging environment," said Mark Miskinis, Deloitte partner, Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice, Costa Mesa. "We applaud the successes of LifeMasters and acknowledge their place as one of the very few to accomplish such a fast growth rate over the past five years."

Winners of the 19 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest growing technology companies.
