A Personal Relationship Focused on Empowerment
We understand that self-confidence and self care skills are the keys to health improvement, so we empower our program participants to take an active role in their health. Through outreach and education, they learn how to effectively monitor their condition and improve their lifestyle to reduce complications, hospitalizations and emergency room visits.

"Joining LifeMasters has made a difference in my life. They sent me a scale, a blood pressure monitor and a chart for recording all my numbers. Before I joined LifeMasters, I didn't do any monitoring at home. I didn't know why I would want to monitor myself or talk to a stranger about my health problems. Now, every day without fail, I weigh myself, take my blood pressure and record my blood sugar. This allows me to see how well I'm doing. It gives me more control over my health.

"The best thing about the LifeMasters program is that it keeps me in tune with what's going on in my body so I don't slack off. Carolyn, my LifeMasters nurse, has been able to help me deal better with my low blood sugar. In the past I used to run and get a candy bar. Now, I understand that's not the best thing to do. She has also been able to explain how foods and medications affect my organs. I was impressed with that. She even encouraged me to get into a support program. I talked about it with my doctor, on her recommendation, and now I go to one. She relates to me on my level and is very well informed about diabetes."
